VIETNAMESE LANGUAGE AND VIETNAMESE CULTURE COURSE

Intending to expand Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Culture to the world, the Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Culture course at Hanoi University of Industry has been operated since 2020 with all the sufficient conditions to educate international students.

The Faculty of Foreign Languages at Hanoi University of Industry provides you with fully- experienced lecturers, modern facilities, updated programs, and curriculum to meet the requirements of training highly- qualified human resources in the Vietnamese language and culture; provide basic, systematic, modern and practical knowledge about Vietnamese language and culture; train students in language skills, proficient use of Vietnamese language, application in interpretation and translation, so that students are capable of further researching and teaching Vietnamese after graduation.

Graduating with a bachelor degree in Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Culture at Hanoi University of Industry, students can proficiently read, write and listen in Vietnamese; have in-depth knowledge of Vietnamese cultural language and handle professional requirements in Vietnamese (such as translation, office administration, language research, etc); have the ability to work in research institutes on Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Culture, professional agencies, international organizations in Vietnam, continuing to pursue postgraduate or doctoral studies in social sciences and humanities such as Language, Literature, History, Tourism, Sociology, etc.

The Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Culture program has three specialized orientations: Translation and Interpretation, Tourism - Trade, Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. Students who complete the specialized courses will master and apply advanced knowledge:

- To the students who complete the course of Translation and Interpretation, beside their good Vietnamese language skills, they also have the understanding of Vietnamese people and culture; master the knowledge of translation or interpreting so that they can apply at a high level.

- To the students who complete the course of the Tourism-Trade orientation, students will be proficient in the language, in-depth understanding of Vietnamese people and culture; master the specialized knowledge of Vietnamese tourism and commerce to communicate, transact, make plans, translate/interpret Vietnamese into another foreign language in the field of tourism and commerce.

- To the students who complete the course of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, beside their proficiency in Vietnamese and extensive understanding of Vietnamese people and culture, students will have advanced knowledge about phonetics, vocabulary, grammar; master grammar in documents, semantic rhetorical measures, and Vietnamese pragmatics to work in related fields after graduation.
