JICA experts paid a working visit to Hanoi University of Industry
On October 15th, 2019, a delegation of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) paid a working visit to Hanoi University of Industry. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Duc Quy – Rector of HaUI chaired the meeting.
The delegation of Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) included Mr. Fumio Inagawa, former Chief Technical Advisor of JICA - HaUI Project (period 2010 - 2013), Mr. Junichi Mori, former expert of JICA Project - HaUI and other members of JICA Vietnam. On the side of HaUI, there was the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Quy - Rector, Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice Rector and representatives of JICA Management Board, Center for International Cooperation and Center for Enterprise Partnership.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Duc Quy - Rector of HaUI thanked for the enthusiastic contributions of JICA experts at JICA - HaUI project which has been implemented since 2000.
The Rector highly appreciated the effectiveness of the JICA - HaUI project. HaUI has improved its management system and gained many remarkable results in the construction of vocational skills assessment system and employment support system for students. In particular, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Duc Quy emphasized that the application of 5S model (Seiri - Sort, Seiton - Set in order, Seiso - Standardize, Seiketsu - Sustaint and Shitsuke - Self-discipline) is an important factor for the project to achieve many results. Accordingly, the sense of discipline, soft skills of learners is significantly improved.

In response, Mr. Fumio Inagawa - Former Chief Advisor of JICA Project - HaUI said: JICA has had a long and successful cooperation relationship with HaUI. Through this working session, JICA experts would like to learn about the effectiveness, as well as the specific results that the Project has brought to the University as well as other educational and training institutions. He emphasized that HaUI is recognized as a training institution capable of providing vocational training programs according to Japanese standards and has received high appreciation from government agencies, educational institutions and businesses.
Since 2000, JICA has assisted HaUI to build a vocational college training program in mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic control; to transfer of all training programs and to support equipment in the first phase of the Project.
In the period of 2010 - 2013, JICA supported HaUI in improving the capacity to improve training programs that reflect the needs of the industry through strengthening cooperation and linkages with enterprises.
In the period of 2013 - 2017 and up to now, JICA continues to support HaUI and its partners in developing vocational training systems through strengthening the capacity of vocational technical teacher (TOT) training at HaUI. HaUI has effectively managed technical transfer activities to TVET institutes through TOT courses. In particular, HaUI has successfully implemented the technology transfer to the Technical Vocational Colleges of Technology and the College of Technology II, becoming the two key colleges implementing TOT courses.
